A hand reaching out to help

What We Believe

Compassion, put into action

We believe compassion isn't just something you feel, but is something you do. It shows up as a school lunch, a playground, a rescued animal, a hand for someone working hard to get by. And every time it does, it changes two people: the one who receives it and the one who gives it.

Why compassion

Compassion widens the circle of who matters to us — beyond ourselves, beyond our own families, beyond our own species. Caring for others is how that circle grows.

What caring teaches us

We don't set out to teach wisdom. We find it grows on its own when we care for others. Showing up again and again makes us more patient, more grateful, and clearer about what matters. Some of what we've learned comes from teachers and organizations we admire, and we share their work when it helps. But most of it comes from the work itself.

Why we share the stories

Kindness is contagious. When we document our work — and the work of others doing good — one act of care can reach hundreds of thousands of people and inspire more of it. That's why we see content as our mission at scale.

The Spirit Bright Letter

We'll tell you who we met.

A few times a year, a letter from Sam about the people behind the work — a coffee stand on Soi 34, a school for blind children in Lopburi, two cows bought out of a slaughterhouse.
