Our Mission
Spirit Bright is a philanthropic foundation dedicated to uplifting the human spirit through compassionate action, wisdom, and service to all living beings.

We believe every person carries a spark of potential that, when nurtured, can illuminate the world. Spirit Bright exists to fan that spark — through education, healing, creative expression, and the preservation of nature.
Our work spans five interconnected areas, each reflecting our conviction that lasting change begins from within and ripples outward into communities, ecosystems, and future generations.
What We Do
Areas of Contribution
Content & Storytelling
Creating and sharing podcasts, films, free guided meditations, and honest stories from the work — spreading wisdom widely and showing the world what compassionate action looks like. Content is core to our mission, not marketing around it.
Children's Development
Partnering with organizations to ensure children have access to recreation, critical healthcare, and current learning opportunities.
Animal Rescue
Medical treatment and homes for abused and rescued animals, including those saved from the meat production trade.
Experience Centers
Providing grants to retreat and experience centers that support inner development through meditation practices and wisdom teachings.
Nature Sanctuaries
Supporting projects to restore natural habitats and integrate gardens and sanctuaries into communities to create harmony.
Our Founder
Meet Sam Marks
Spirit Bright was founded by entrepreneur and investor Sam Marks, after years of exploring meditation, Buddhism, and the question of what makes a meaningful life. Time spent living and practising alongside Buddhist monastics — including periods of ordination — convinced him that compassion and wisdom aren’t ideas to study but qualities to put into action.
Sam lives in Bangkok, which is why most of our work sits within a short flight of home. He visits the projects, knows the monks, teachers, and community leaders we fund, and keeps the foundation deliberately small so that giving stays close to the people it reaches.
