Spirit Bright is supporting Cattle Charity, a grassroots organization in Khon Kaen, Northeast Thailand, that provides lifelong shelter and care for rescued cows and buffalo saved from the meat industry.
The Challenge
Seasonal floods in 2025 destroyed much of the shelter infrastructure, putting over 200 animals at risk. The damage was severe and required a comprehensive reconstruction effort.
Project Scope
The renovation includes:
- Raising the roof by 2 meters to prevent future flood damage
- Backfilling soil — 100 to 200 truckloads per enclosure
- Leveling ground and installing concrete flooring
- Building custom feeding troughs
- Constructing a proper drainage system
The timeline runs from May through August 2025.
Why It Matters
This project represents Spirit Bright's commitment to animal welfare through direct, practical action. These animals were rescued from suffering, and maintaining their shelter ensures they can live out their lives in safety and dignity.
